Cleveland Web Association Scholarship Winner!

Yeah! I was selected as one of four students to receive the Cleveland Web Association Scholarship for Fall 2008. What does this mean? I have the opportunity to attend 5 sessions at local interactive marketing firms and agencies to learn more about working in the web and interactive media world. We'll also be working on the Cleveland Web Association website in these sessions. I think this is going to be a great networking and learning opportunity. I am really excited!
Summer 2008 Internship

This summer I was selected for an internship with Westfield Insurance. As a User Experience Design intern I was able to help prepare for and facilitate user expereince testing. I also had the opportunity to assist in evaluating existing software as well as design new software. It was a great experience, I learned a lot about usability and design in general.
How Magazine 2008 Design Conference in Boston

In May I had the opportunity to attend my first design conference. It was overwhelming, but at the same time I learned quite a bit about how to run your own design business and professional practices. My favorite speaker was Michael Beirut from Pentegram Design. I enjoyed his interview most because he was a dynamic speaker and gave some great advice about presenting ideas. I also enjoyed the Modern Dog Design presentation, from this session I learned more about the creative process and the importance of sketches. I had a great time, and hope to attend another conference in the future!
